Jeff Wiseman said: Jordi, that would seem to be the way it works, but it now raises a question to me. Originally, the only way to switch between preferred parents was to go all the way over to the Family Members section of the person's details page:
But now you can supposedly do that directly on the pedigree chart. But does it really work the SAME? I was pretty sure that originally setting the preference on the Family Members section would set it "sticky" for you until you decided to change it. Even if you logged out. But now I wonder if the setting is really specific to the person's account, or does setting it change the pedigree view of EVERYONE on the system? Furthermore, does changing the preference in the pedigree view do the same thing as if it were done in the Family Members section? Or is the change only for the duration of the login session?
If the behavior is different depending on which place you were when you changed it, that is bound to create significant confusion and would be a pretty poor design decision--especially if you are trying to support simple, consistent, and intuitive behavior on the system.
BTW, regardless of any glitches or inconsistencies, the fact that FS has made that controllable from the pedigree is REALLY NICE. Thanks FS!0 -

Jordi Kloosterboer said: Switching who you show on the tree changes the preffered on the details page. This preference is only for your account. I tested with mine and my mom's accounts.0

Jeff Wiseman said: Thanks for letting us know!~ So it is the same identical setting regardless of whether it is changed in the details page or on the charts themselves. That's as it should be.
Note though that the only other "gotcha' might have to do with page refreshes. I.e., if you were to have the details page up in one window while you reference your pedigree in another.0
