ECONFINA is a RIVER between Taylor and Jefferson Counties in Florida. There was a settlement known as ECONFINA. Bet you never heard of it! LET US MAKE THE CORRECTIONS WITHOUT YOUR INPUT!

If you encounter places that are not known to the system, then please submit them so they can be added. You can do that at the places site here:

    https://www.familysearch.org/research...

Econfina is in the places database already, though there are two of them:
    https://www.familysearch.org/research...

If those aren't correct, please use the "Suggest a New Place" button at the top to get the new information added to the system.

    Thank you!

Not sure what are you talking about here. Who is the "us" making corrections, and the "you" that don't know... that you are referring to?

This is a public forum read by many people. FamilySearch employees read everything but only occasionally respond. I am just another patron on the system.

Since I don't understand what you are talking about, but it sounds like there might be a misunderstanding somewhere, I'll make a guess or two:

    1) If you are having a problem with place name data that you are entering into the FamilySearch Family tree database being changed by other people--those changes are not being made by FamilySearch personnel. In fact, the people making those changes probably don't even watch this forum, and therefore would not see your message.

The family tree is a SINGLE SHARED TREE that all patrons with accounts on the system use. It is designed so that a single person record in the system can be seen and MODIFIED by anyone with an account on the system that chooses to make improvements to those records.

Nobody has a personal "tree" in the FamilySearch FamilyTree (FSFT). There is only one single tree in the database that is owned by FamilySearch. All of us are allowed to contribute to it.

    2) If you are having problems with Standardizing the displayed name of a location by finding a standard name from the database to assigned to it, please be aware that this system is unique. No other genealogical systems that I know of use the "dual name" feature for place names that the FSFT has. If there is a Standard place name that should be in the standards database, please let us know here and the places team can examine it and resolve any inconsistencies.

    3) If neither of the above are related to your issue, please respond and give us some more details so that someone can address the issue for you.

This is the address to send reports of missing or incorrect place names.

They do follow up. Will act faster if you provide additional information.
