Public or Private Memories

This is the button to make the memory private or public. This is also available in the sort for our memories. I think this is a wonderful advancement and will mean that we can add memories of our living family and not worry about "others" finding them. Could you tell me when this might move onto the live FamilySearch? also what would happen to these memories once we die, would they stay in our gallery or would they then become public. I hope this becomes live soon as I would love to put living family memories here but don't wish to have them viewable by everyone.

For practicality there could be a pre structured form to be completed, like color of eyes, favorite hobby, education/ career, or allow free form with limit on number of words. Could be kept private for a selected number of years.0

I am definitely NOT in favour of having the button.
1. Any memories that I attach to a private person, such as myself, are already fairly safe from being seen by other users. Anything that is so private that I don't want others to see it ought to be stored somewhere outside of FSFT.
2. I greatly enjoy seeing the memories attached to other people - even those attached to people unrelated to me. They are interesting and many of them bring back to me wonderful memories of past associates. Or they are highly uplifting stories.
3. I seem to recall that FSFT recently said that eventually any user will be able to make adjustments to tags on a memory which they did not upload. I'm looking forward to that, because a huge number of users do badly with their uploading:
(a) Their tags are often huge and unsuitable for placing the picture on the person page.
(b) Many leave deceased individuals in the picture without any tag at all (perhaps because the user does not know the names of those individuals) and I would like to be able to tag them, for the benefit of posterity.
(c) Sometimes they spell the tag name incorrectly and I'd like to correct it. After all, FSFT is not a personal private tree to be protected from others. Accuracy is important.
(d) I find that messaging the user/up-loader fails most times, to get them to add or correct a tag - especially if they don't know how to do it (but don't like to say so).
(e) A vast number of users even fail to give a title to a memory, or to name some of the deceased persons in it. I'd like to be able to add a title to the memory, especially to a photo of an ancestor of mine. With no title, or with an ancestor left un-named, it leaves younger or later descendants in the dark as to the identity of the person or some of the persons in the memory.
(f) Occasionally someone uploads a photo of a large and historic group, but fails to say who most of the deceased people in it are. I'd like to be able to name and tag as many of those persons as possible. That makes the historic photo of far more value to everyone. If the up-loader locks the photo from the view of myself or of others who are capable of naming those in the photo, it is not in the best interest of the tree.0 -

It is a very welcome feature for me. Except it should have a time limit. 110 years after they are uploaded should be made public automatically.0
