Full Time Missionaries Can Do Some FamilySearch indexing as Part of Their Service

Family History Missionaries may be willing to teach groups of Full time missionaries to index.

Also it is suggested that some full time missionaries may be trained to take call and chats for indexing calls.

This is COVID-19, caused by the SARS-CoV-2. It is an entirely different type of virus and not even in the same family as flu. It transmits more easily than flu. It is considerably more lethal than flu.

That said indexing of records by those furloughed from full time missionary duty likely would be a good idea since it provides something useful to do for those people instead of sittimg around and twiddling their thumbs.

Cindy Hecker said: Actually I have a son out serving now and most missionaries do not have computers and you cannot index from a smart phone. Many must go to LAN (local area network) cafes to even use the internet and if we are protecting their health then best not to sent them to public places.

SO while in theory it might sound good, many missionaries do not have the access to index. They can do family history from the App so that can be an option for some who have the smart phones.

ATP said: And, one might add, not only missionaries, but, families with older teenagers, and all others who are trying to figure out how to use all that new found time to useful purpose; starting with un-indexed records where the latest generations of their families live/lived, then branching out as they discover their various family line migration patterns, if they don't already know. The point being connecting to time and place of their own families.
