I want to personally thank susanbabcock1 and mariaeppich who helped me to find the birth records of our great great grandfather, Julius Hoffmann who was born in Tomaszow (Mazowiecki), Russia. They help to find the birth record but at that time I did not know it was my ancestor. I just recently found a document Written by Julius Hoffmann that said who his parents were. They are Leopold Hoffmann and Elisabeth Door (the o's in Door are supposed to have umlauts).
Here is the record that they found and sent to me:
I looked up Opatówek in the Skorowidz Gazetteer and here is the page. On the far right, it says that "e" (evangelical) records are in the parish at Kalisz. https://www.wbc.poznan.pl/dlibra/applet?mimetype=image%2Fx.djvu&sec=false&handler=djvu_html5&content_url=%2FContent%2F12786%2Fdirectory.djvu&p=1199
Look up Kalisz on http://kami.net.pl/kresy/ and just to the east is Opatówek.
I looked up on geneteka and found a son Julius Hoffmann born to Leopold Hoffman 28 years old and Elsbiet Toers? 22 years old on or before the 17th of February 1833 but it wasn't in the correct parish even though it was in Łodzk where your ancestor lived. (The handwriting was difficult for me in the original copy but if it's the right one, Maria Eppich could maybe help us with the rest of the translation--or I could work harder on it). There are several ones that are labeled as evangelical, although not in the same birth year, but maybe those evangelical ones are a better bet?
This is the right Julius Hoffmann. I am now searching for the birth records and siblings of both Leopold Hoffmann and Elisabeth Door.
Thank you ladies for your generous help. With love in Christ,
George D. Dill
