There is ALREADY such a function/feature/facility; but, it does not reside in "FamilySearch".

Such such a function/feature/facility already exists in a "Partner" Application (ie. "Web" Site).

Take a look at "RelativeFinder.org" from the 'Computer Science Department' of "Brigham Young University" (BYU) in Utah (a Church University) which is a Programme that is "Certified" to work directly with "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch".

    https://www.relativefinder.org/#/main

There are MANY 'Bells and Whistles' available in "RelativeFinder"

    Just some ...

See if there is a connection between two (x2) Deceased individuals/persons

See if there is a connection between youself and a Deceased individual/person

See if there is a connection between two (x2) ("Living") Users/Patrons in "FamilySearch"

    Enjoy.

There is no need for "FamilySearch" to 'reinvent the wheel' ...

    I hope this helps.
