Woody Brison said: Trying to attach a source. After composing and typing in copious explanatory text, I hit Save and get "Sorry, the sources feature is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

1. Don't apologize, fix it!

2. Could you please provide an estimate of how long the wait will be? 10 minutes? 10 days? 10 centuries?

3. If the sources feature is unavailable, why not give an indication of that BEFORE someone spends an hour getting the notes in order and typing them in? This is significant because a lot of FS users are old and don't have a lot of hours left to just get them flushed like this. Also it doesn't exactly build public trust in the Church.

4. Also it doesn't exactly engender admiration for the skills of the programming team.

"We sat down tired and perspiring, and hired a couple of Chinamen to curse those people who had beguiled us." < Mark Twain, Roughing It

Firefox 79.0 (64-bit) / Windows 10

Juli said: The key is probably in your point 3: you probably timed out while entering the source.

It's highly annoying, but you have to train yourself: never spend any time typing stuff into FS. Always, always write it up in a text editor. Then refresh the page before you copy and paste the text into the boxes.

About an hour. Bug 20 might be related.

joe martel said: Personally, if I take more than 5-10 minutes filling out a form on any website I know I'm treading in the territory of losing the input data, and then have to refresh the page, causing me to redo the whole page over again. This is especially common in places like bank sites and completing a purchase transaction. So I prepare my comments in a non-web app (local to my computer) and paste it in. An hour is pretty long tightrope duration in the internet/browser world.

There are some browser add-ons to stay alive but I have never used, or trusted one.

    Not a bug.

Tom Huber said: Yes, it would be nice, but when it is a time-out, the browser would have to be aware:

    1) that there is a security timeout
    2) be able to tell if no "keep alive" function took place.

    Strictly a browser function.
