Extremely Slow "Upload" of Photos to Memories

I can click on "Upload Photo" and perform the initial upload just fine. I have no trouble giving the photo a title or tagging the relevant person in the photo. I can then drag the photo into the broad, short dashed rectangle and get a green highlight, suggesting that the drag and drop has taken.
It's at this point that things get stuck. The "Upload Photo" button is now grayed out and shows the spinning beachball of death. It spins and spins and spins and spins for at least a half hour, at which point I give up and decide that maybe Memories aren't so important after all.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Drag and drop is for uploading photos, yet by your description you already uploaded the photo. I'm a bit confused.0

Chris Grant said: I used GetSatisfaction's search facility to try to find a related topic before I posted the message above but had no luck. Then I decided to use Google's "site:" search facility and got a lot more hits. Reading those leads me to believe that I'm just dealing with the screening process, which is supposed to take a half hour or more. This is not a big deal if it doesn't prevent you from uploading your next photo, but the Person>Memories page does seem to prevent that.0

Jeff Porter said: Screening for me is quite short. Screening would prevent others from seeing your uploaded photo but it should in no way affect you doing whatever you want with the photo (tagging, adding titles/descriptions, adding dates/locations/ adding it to persons in the Tree etc.). The person/memories page should allow you to "select from Gallery" and see that photo in screening in order to attach that photo to the person.
BTW, I often upload several photos at once, using the CTRL+click feature of the file manager (depending on your OS/browser).0
