George Scott said: Previously, a Family Tree record showed which parent was an adoptive parent (or which parent was a step parent). That has been truncated. (As an example, please see Maggie Jolly, L1QJ-Z2R.) Could we go back to showing which parent is the adoptive parent, or step parent? Thanks.

You can still find the information, but you have to open the relationship screen, which is an unnecessary additional step, and some less-experienced viewers may not know how to do that.

I'm not quite sure what exactly you are referring to. This information is available from the details section of the individual:

George Scott said: I don't know why, but that is not what I see. Maybe it has something to do with my browser (Firefox). I used to see that, but I have only seen a truncated portion for the past few months. Before that, I used to see the full line.

George Scott said: It might have to do with the size of my font relative to the width available. I only see out of one eye, and I have macrodegeneration in the one good eye. So, I apologize for bringing up the issue.

Jeff Wiseman said: Certainly don't apologize George! I know that FS is constantly trying to maximize the availability of the tools to everyone and would likely consider this important. It might just be a configuration issue, but it might also be a browser idiosyncrasy that they need to deal with. As the software continues to churn here, we constantly see things where something works on one browser but not another. Better for all that issues like this are brought up here so they can be evaluated.

Also, once you get the hang of it, it's fairly easy to take a screen shot, trim it down to a good size, and then include it with your posting. That helps a lot for those folks here on the forum as well as the FS engineer to see exactly what the issues look like.

Anyway, please don't be afraid to throw something out here that doesn't see to look right. There's a lot of folks on here willing to jump in and see what's going on. And after you try a bit of experimenting with another browser, let us know if the problem persists.
