Getting information on your defination of a term JUST IN TIME is invaluable for newbies who are unhappy with the lack of feedback systems of your competitors.
How about highlighting technical terms so we can click on it and get a simple defination. What is a wicky?
Your interest in Continuous Improvement makes me feel hopeful!

Firstly, "Welcome" to this "FamilySearch" ( "GetStaisfaction" ) 'Feedback' Forum.
Secondly, "Official 'FamilySearch' Representatives", do monitor; and, sometimes, participate in, this Forum.
Thirdly, I am just another User/Patron, just like yourself (and, happen to be a Member of the Church).
Many Users/Patrons who regularly participate in this Forum who have a great deal of knowledge and experience with "FamilySearch", like to assist/help other Users/Patrons like yourself.
Finally, as an aside, have you seen this under "Help" ...
And, then, from the 'Drop-Down' Menu, under "Help Center" ...
And, when "Indexing" is selected, you get taken to this ...
I hope this helps.

Just wanted to point out that FS is a non-profit organisation, so doesn't "compete" with those companies. In fact FS has partnerships with most of the major for-profit genealogical companies, including Ancestry, FMP and MyHeritage, through which they co-operate with them.
As a non-profit organisation and a volunteer-driven one, FS is unable to implement all the fancy tools that its users may want.0 -
MaureenE said: Under the Help dropdown menu which Brett highlighted above, there is an item Research Wiki
This works in similar way to Wikipedia, but is to help you with your genealogical research

Gordon Collett said: Ancestry: Founded in 1990, has been bought a couple of times, now a publicly traded for profit company. Has bought and sold off various other companies through the years. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancestr... )
Geni: Founded in 2007 as a commercial company, bought by MyHeritage in 2016 but kept as a separate service. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geni.com )
FamilySearch: Founded 1894 as the Genealogical Society of Utah. A nonprofit organization run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints whose goal of creating a permanent record of everyone who has ever lived is based on foundational religious doctrines of the church. Which one do you think is most likely to still be around in 2030?0 -
W David Samuelsen said: Ancestry is not publicly traded. It's private ventures. You won't find Ancestry stock anywhere.0

Gordon Collett said: Ah! I was reading to fast. It was publicly traded from 5 Nov. 2009 until 2012 when it went private again, then almost when public again in 2017 and had paperwork filed to do so, but never did. ( https://www.cnbc.com/2017/09/12/ances... )0

Tamra Stansfield said: Thanks for all of your great comments. The Help experience on FamilySearch.org is currently being studied and new methods and avenues of Help are being explored and tested. Stay tuned!0

Dean Payne said: John,
That is a great suggestion. We will factor your input into our current plans. As Tammy said "Stay tuned!".0 -
Jordi Kloosterboer said: FamilySearch will be around until the end of the world because it is important to the work of salvation and exhalation which is part of the reason why we are here on earth. This is according to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints theology--and they sponsor the site.0

which included the words
"For any FS employee reading this, I must say all this information is buried away. Why not be upfront and indicate the link to the Community much earlier on, as the Facebook page is stated to be no longer active."0
