Please make offline mode work

Nadeane Spear said: I just read your article in the Help Center about "What happened to offline mode for indexing?" The web indexing is too slow sometimes because the website is too busy. Keep working on the offline mode, please.

We all share an active interest in using the resources of this site and as users, we have various levels of knowledge and experience and do our best to help each other with concerns, issues, and/or questions.

    One of the reasons the off-line indexing program was discontinued had to do with maintenance across a wide variety of platforms. At least that is what I remember from the discussions at the time.

Before starting to index, make sure all other pages are closed and clear your local browser cache and history (for all time). Chrome is particularly brutal when it comes to clearing the cache and must be done "for all time" -- otherwise, it is going to go back to find a previously loaded page to see if it can load that instead of bringing down a new page from the site.
