The instruction on how to use a cell phone to find names to send to the temple was shown brilliantly in this presentation, as an example: https://www.familysearch.org/blog/en/... about 20 minutes in: Sister Jones' and the youth's presentation. We need to get beyond relying solely upon Family History Consultants to do all the teaching, most of whom know little about cell phone / tablet apps.
Thank you.

But...
In the few lessons that I looked at, it was web-centered and not app centered.
The phone/tablet apps may have a similar look and feel, but are lacking when it comes to specific videos that deal directly with the apps.
I have "played around" with the apps on my iPad and actually prefer to use Safari as a web browser and use it over the apps, since it most closely matches the operation on a computer.
As much as the tablet manufacturers would like us to believe that a tablet can preplace a computer, my feelings are that the limited display also limits the usability of the app.
About a decade ago, a small portable device called the Netboook was released and sold for a very low price. While it was essentially a regular computer, the very small display limited its usability, just as a smart phone or tablet display also limits those devices when it comes to FamilySearch.
But...
There is one place where these devices can be very useful and that is as a patron at a temple, where you can call up FamilySearch and use your temple page and My Reservations, your temple page and your Shared names, Ordinances Ready, or find any ordinance that has been shared with the temple and perform the vicarious ordinances at that time. The temple office will print out the cards for you.
In the meantime, have you looked in the FamilySearch Wiki? There is at least one Family History Center that features instructions: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/... Lesson 20 & 21 deal with the apps. I did not see much in the way of details, but it is something that you might want to look at.0
