BUG - Text of obituary not seen

Justin Masters said: I've had two different bugs appear in genealogy bank obituaries related to Dudley Oscar King https://www.familysearch.org/tree/per... (genealogy bank obituaries)
This problem was seen in another obituary as well (sorry, didn't record which person, but the same problem)
When I clicked an obituary, I get a long list of names, and then near the bottom, there is no text from the obituary.
I tried refreshing the page, but nothing new happens.
I happened to pick another obituary, and it had some minor text (there was no long list of names with this one, which was appropriate).
But then I went back to the first obituary, and it seemed to get "stuck" with the text from the obituary I just attached, but when I refreshed the page, the text was gone (like seen above) with a long list of names to attach.

Lundgren said: The link above only goes to a tree person. (It seems you cannot link directly to the item you want to show us.
When I go to what I think is the obituary here:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/619...
The full text is shown. Can you add a screenshot from the tree of what you are seeing since there doesn't seem to be a way to link directly to the item?0 -

Jordi Kloosterboer said: I think he might be meaning the one he left detached but that is about his wife. it shows only one character. Here is the URL i think he is talking about: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/per... It was indexed by a computer so I wrote down the error on the error tag on that webpage.0

Justin Masters said: Yes. I left one unattached, and it shows only one character. I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to screen shoot, as there's nothing to see, but you have to scroll up a bit to see the names supposedly attached to the obituary.0

Justin Masters said: This is the link to the record... at least to the people who are supposed to be attached... https://www.familysearch.org/search/l...
The one referenced by Lundgren is to the one I already attached, and had very little there (just the person who died).0 -

Amy Archibald said: I'm having the same issue. I cannot see the text abstract of the GenealogyBank obituaries.
Here is one example:

I reported this awhile back (2 weeks back), but it hasn't been addressed yet.
The Review and Attach link shows:
https://www.familysearch.org/search/l...
(I'm trying to attach people to the obituary with info I have already obtained about the family, and another obituary I found via newspapers.com)
Another person with a bad obituary source is MT67-TG3
Any progress on fixing this? I was helping someone with their ancestor two nights ago, and had the same thing happen to them on an obituary source from genealogybank. (the screen shot above is from today)0 -
Lundgren said: The only progress that you can see is there is now an error message that wasn't there before, but it is being worked on.
The data still exists, and there is no licensing problem that I am aware of.
It is a technical data access problem.0 -
Justin Masters said: OK. Thank you Lundgren. Any pattern identified to understand why some do and some don't show the obituaries?0

Lundgren said: None that will be visible from a user perspective.0

Jacob Reid said: It is a different issue but they are related.0

Justin Masters said: Okay, thanks.
Could you just post here when a solution gets found? I hold open those tabs until I get back to them - otherwise I forget about them.
I'm moving around quite a bit on the tree.. (and working on about 3-4 things at a time)0 -

Quick question... the error I saw seemed to be related to an image, but now (with the fix) I see the text only.
Is access to images no longer possible?
For instance, I had this tab up and the address was:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/619...
But it's blank now, with a little tag that says "This image courtesy of GenealogyBank".
(I suppose I should be thankful that I get a blank screen... with no error. :-) )0 -
Lundgren said: The images that you were seeing were generated images from the original text.
In this case, these records came to familysearch as text. There were no images. To ease use of these records in parts of the system that could not deal with text only records, images were generated from the text.
Extracting the contents from the generated images is more difficult. (If you just want to copy and paste a few lines, you cannot.)
Where the records come in as images, those are available. These did not require transcription as they were "born digital."0 -
Justin Masters said: Lundgren, I think we're talking about two different "images".
If I understand what you're saying, the generated text is rendered as an image.
But in the past I've seen actual photos of obituaries clipped from newspapers, including some with handwritten comments on them about what date it was published and initials or name of the paper. (I suppose these could be two different sources.)
Did the bug fixes regarding their (GenealogyBank) display disrupt the images of the actual newspaper clippings from being seen? Has GenealogyBank ONLY ever provided JUST TEXT (which is rendered)?
The link I last shared has a screen for displaying a photo (like a microfilm photo would be rendered), with a tag saying "This image courtesy of GenealogyBank" and nothing is being shown (no photo of the article, or a rendered image containing text).
Do you see the same thing if you click that link? (seen in my previous message)0
