Please Give Us Back the Ordinance Cards

I always keep a few cards going so I can do whatever ordinance I might have time for, or whatever works best once I get to the temple. It also allows me to share the work with a friend or family member going with me. Now I have to decide ahead of time what I'm going to do, and then take the time to find a name online and reprint a card.
Having to print the same card 5 times is NOT AT ALL ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY. I think that's a big mistake.

First, you do not have to print the card each time. The temple recorder's office is prepared to print the card(s) for you if you take the code with you (even on a phone) to the temple.
Second, this not a decision that involves FamilySearch.
It is strictly a matter of the Temple Department and as such, they have taken their direction (or so we have been told) from the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve. This has been repeated in many of the discussions that Brett provided in his response. Some of those discussion go to great length to explain why this change was made.
As such, we have been advised to take the matter up with our local Priesthood leaders and/or Temple Presidency.
There has been some discussion that if you are going to do all the ordinances in one visit, that you alert the staff when you enter, so that they can give you the card for the next ordinance. They will keep the card after completing the last ordinance.0
