"Mobile" Application version does it again ...
Leads the "Web" version ...
"My Contributions" ....
Our own "Statistics" ...
The "Statistics" go way back; well, of course, only in "Family Tree", they "Start' from 2014.
This has already advised by 'Jessie' through a 'Praise' post ...
New My Contributions feature in the Family Tree Mobile App

The My Contributions feature not yet available on the website. We hope to add it soon.

Interesting.
"FamilySearch", I am sure that many Users/Patrons will like an appreciate that feature.
[ Myself NOT being one of them ]

ps: Here we go ... this is really 'ashame', back to "Competition" and "Shaming" again!
pps: Sort of contrary to what has recently happened to "Reports", where individual Names were 'Taken Off', to stop "Competition" and "Shaming"!

I've been manually keeping track of all the private people I add. I'm glad there is a way to see those people in a list - that shows up under "My Contributions" - "Private Persons"
I love the Stats too!
I know I create a lot of people in the Tree and now I can see statistically what that really is. I was floored that it was as many as is listed. Particularly since I've been doing a lot of work this year and I'm amazed at what those numbers really are.
It has nothing to do with shaming or competition. I don't anticipate sharing my numbers with others.0 -

I am certain that many Users/Patrons will also 'Love' the "Statistics" ...
As recently indicated in a recent post ...
I have NO interest in the "... Number of sessions performed, number of people created through record hints, etc ..." that I have been involved in.
I just want to DO the Work and get it as 'right' (ie. correct) as I possibly can - ie. QUALITY over QUANTITY.
I am sorry; but, I would suggest that having the "Statistics" available to us would just/simply promote "Competition" amount Users/Patrons (especially, Members of the Church); and, even, "Shaming", that has been the case in the past.
That, "Competition"; and, "Shaming", is ONE of the REASONS that the ACTUAL Names of individual Member Users/Patrons was TAKEN OFF the various ("Temple and Family History") "Statistical" Reports available to Leaders.
It is 'human nature' ...
Unfortunately, I DO anticipate "Discussing" of one's "Statistics" between Users/Patrons; especially, Members of the Church ...
Hence, my disappointment with this NEW feature.
Of course, each to their own ...

One definitely good part to this NEW feature ...
ALL the "Living" individuals/persons in our "Private Spaces" are also included.
Of course, including those that were "Created" by the "System" when "Private Spaces" was introduced in "Family Tree" in 2014.
Good to see my Wife and Children there.
Unfortunately, "Changes" ONLY includes the LAST 300 changes, mine only goes back to the other week. I know it would be 'massive', to say the least (not to mention 'chew up' the Servers); but, it would be interesting to see ALL changes, way back to 2014 (ie. the real start of "Family Tree").

With the introduction of this NEW "Statistic" feature, the Church may as well reintroduce the individual Names back onto the "Reports"; as, it will make no difference now ...
The "Discussions" and "Sharing" of one's "Statistics" between Users/Patrons; especially, Members of the Church, is bound to happen (a 'fait accompli', so to speak)!

David Wynn said: Well, that was short-lived. Please bring back this feature! Was enjoying the ability to revisit my "living" people.0

Alan E. Brown said: David,
Could you help me understand what you mean by "that was short-lived"? The My Contributions feature continues to be available on the mobile Family Tree app as near as I can tell. It's been visited thousands of times just today.0 -
David Wynn said: That was odd. After a reboot, it's back on my phone also. Well, nevermind then. Carry on.0

Alan E. Brown said: The Changes tab does show the last 300 changes, but note that it does include a search bar. So you can search for a name (can be a full name, a given name, a surname, or even just a part of a name) and see the last 300 changes you've made to people that match that name.0

'Thank You' for that.
But, regardless, it is still unfortunate that we cannot see ALL "Changes" we made, way back to 2014 (ie. the real start of "Family Tree"), it certainly would be interesting.

Alan E. Brown said: I guess I don't see the value in paging through thousands of changes to get back to 2014. Aside from a quick look to see what I worked on in the last few days, I'm pretty sure that I would be using the search feature to find anything else.
To my thinking, it's quite similar to the thousands of email message I have. I frequently look at the emails that have arrived in the last day or two, but for anything farther back, I search. That's the only way I ever look for an email that was from 2014. I would never page back to 2014 -- I don't have that kind of endurance.
Can you help me understand how you would envision the user experience in seeing your changes all the way back to 2014? It seems to me that paging or filtering are the only reasonable options. I suppose that other filtering options beyond a simple text search would be possible, but I'm not sure that such complexity is warranted for this simple feature.0 -
Alan E. Brown said: Just so I can follow up on this odd behavior (even though it seems to have been temporary), could you let me know what kind of device you were using? I don't need specific details -- just was it Android or iOS.0

David Wynn said: I can't recall exactly what was happening last night when I saw this option disappear. But it disappeared again today. It happened at a time when 1) I already had the app open on my phone, and 2) Wifi was not available, and roaming data was shut off.
I'd turned my phone on after it had been off for some time. No internet was available, but I was still in the app. I tried to use the "My Contributions" option, only to find it missing again. So, I tried to pull up "Ancestors With Tasks", which was an available option. Upon trying to bring up one of the ancestors, the app asked me to sign-in. This is a common, although bizarre, reaction to the app finding no available internet. Instead of reminding me to turn on the internet, it instead indicates I need to log in. Whatever.
After turning on the internet, and logging in, the "My Contributions" option was available again. So, unlike the other options, which appear to be static no matter whether the system can access FSFT, the "My Contributions" option disappears if the app cannot access the internet.0 -
Alan E. Brown said: David,
Thanks for your detailed explanation. The lack of internet is clearly the key factor, and I appreciate your taking the time to track it down.
The My Contributions feature is one that only works when you have an internet connection, so you're not really losing any functionality if it disappears when there is no internet. However, we certainly did not intend for the option to disappear like that, and I'll make sure it gets fixed.0 -
iLoveMyLife02 said: It appears that the app only shows the last 200 Private Persons created. Is that correct?
I love this new feature! In addition to Private Persons, you can view your last 200 changes and your public contributions by All, Sources Attached, Memories Attached, and Persons Created. I especially enjoy seeing how many sources I have attached.0 -
Alan E. Brown said: Yes, you initially see the last 200 people you have created or modified. But if you have a lot of private persons, you can also do a search for a name, and get up to 200 that match that name.
The same is true for changes -- you see the last 300 changes at first, but you can search for a name and see up to 300 changes that match that name.0 -
