Heidi Kuosmanen said: Yes, there is something wrong. When clicking image in that Source Linker, it opens new small window indicating the image is from partner site. When you click "Visit partner site" it opens FamilySearch database image but it says that "Image not available"
From Catalog you can view that image when you look page by page: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/619...
But when you do search, you get the search results and then click view image, then it also gives you the notice "Image not available".

Tom Huber said: I haven't trusted the pair (record | image) set for a very long time (a number of years) for several reasons and have always used the "Record" link in the ( record | (name of person) ) at the top of the linker display -- that way I could open the information in its own tab, rather than overwrite the linker display.0

Tom Huber said: This particular instance gets interesting and I suspect the problem is somewhere in the overall coding that starts with the linker display page.
Using Record (at the top of the page), the index opens up with this:
The key may be what I circled: MyHeritage and I wonder if the same problem exists with all MyHeritage referenced materials...0 -
Heidi Kuosmanen said: I do not think that this problem is because that this is a MyHeritage referenced material.
This otherone is working well.

Tom Huber said: Hm. I wonder if this is one of those things that specifically has to be set up by record group, similar to what indexing corrections had to go through when the ability to make changes was in its earliest stages...0

From what I've seen of the data in this particular case, I doubt that "the problem is somewhere in the overall coding that starts with the linker display page," as you suggested. The image URL seems to be invalid, and that invalid URL could easily lead to the code making an incorrect assumption about it being on a third-party site, and certainly leads to the "Image Not Available" message.
The team that manages the record data needs to either fix the URL so that it points to the correct image, or clear the URL if the image is truly unavailable. Probably the best approach would be for someone to open a Support case requesting this correction.0 -

Alan E. Brown said: I don't know. I suggested last month that the best approach would be for someone to open a Support case requesting the correction. Since you seem to be the person most concerned about this issue, it would probably be good for you to do that.0

Alan E. Brown said: On FamilySearch.org, choose Help in the upper right corner, then Contact Us. Then you can choose Send a Message, or you can call Support at 866-406-1830.0

That is basically the "create your own case number" procedure. If you call support, they will just record it for you, but if you want to keep it accurate, create the case yourself.
When you select the "Feedback" link at the very bottom of most FamilySearch Website pages, it brings up a modal window like this:
Normally if you leave the default setting (Suggestion or Compliment) it brings your here to the GetSatisfaction forum. However, if you select the "Problem" radio button, it takes you to a window where you can create a case number for yourself.
You can even include a URL to this topic.0 -
Jeff Wiseman said: Note that if you want to add pictures to the case number, you can, but only AFTER you have created the case number and submitted it. I don't know why you cannot add pictures to the original text of the case number (I complained about it many moons ago) but just reopen it immediately after you submit it and you can add pics.0
