Are developers using a Chrome-optimized development kit?

I've come across so many firefox-breaking bugs in the last few days that I'm wondering if it's not due to some kind of development environment that's provided by Google for Chrome development, and which breaks other non-Chrome browsers.
Any idea about that?

First off, thanks for being a kind and helpful member of the community. As to your question, it is possible that we are neglecting some of our cross-browser testing, which should not be the case, since our current development stack is set up to run both unit and acceptance tests against evergreen Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Developers are also supposed to perform manual testing in each of these prior to releasing features, which is pretty standard, but I think that bugfixes often do not get the same level of attention, and so it is easier for things like that to slip through and break other bits of the site. As far as day-to-day development goes, many of us utilize Chrome for its excellent suite of development tools, so yes, we tend to be a bit biased, especially as browsers go through their revolution/counter-revolution stages. We'll keep trying to make things better, though, so thanks for helping us catch when that doesn't happen.
Happy FamilySearching!

I keep seeing browser-specific bugs (well, I have a dataset of two - Chrome and Firefox :-) )
But I see stuff that was reported awhile back, which was addressed and fixed, coming back and it's frustrating. And it's being seen on the firefox platform.
I get that Chrome is by far the most popular browser. There are a number of us Firefox users who hang on though. (I like the firefox browser extensions that do a lot for privacy, as I don't like ads and trackers... something Google isn't well known for - not exactly sure why... :-) )
So... to resurrect a bug I reported a few weeks back... When attaching a picture, there's a box that overlays the entire picture that tags the person's name who we uploaded to.
But it has no handle for resizing it.
There are multiple people in the picture. If I try to tag just the person who it was initially uploaded/tagged to, I now have two entries for that person in the tagging box.
Another recently reported issue about attaching sources that result in the creation of a new person and stops at opening the box... it just seems so bad that... (ehhh), it should have been tested, but I'm surprised that after a day or two it still hasn't. And the nature of the error isn't just a lack of platform testing... it kinda points to coding items.
The very long delay in initial form entry when searching for records seems to be back again.
There were just lots of rendering/entry issues reappearing that had me wondering about development kits.
(I haven't re-reported two of those, because I figured maybe someone else would. I don't want to be THAT boy who cries "wo.." er, "mountain lion". :-) )0 -

I completely agree.
If you could add the links to your re-opened, and recently-discovered Firefox issues here, we will add them to our issue tracking and (hopefully) have them better addressed.0 -

Justin Masters said: Here's an example where I can't hit ENTER (or the arrow to the right) to enter the data in a source attachment screen. (Only in Firefox)
URL is: https://www.familysearch.org/search/l...
By the time you read this, I will have attached the Carrie in this record on the left to the correct Carrie in Family Tree, via Chrome. (Sorry, there's often no response to the submitted bugs, and I won't remember to come back to this later.)
Oh, I JUST discovered what's going on...
As you type in characters, it DYNAMICALLY FILTERS out the people below.
and
When I copied and pasted the PID in, it filtered so fast I didn't see it happening.
However, the ENTER issue STILL happens in Firefox, and not in Chrome.
Here's what it looks like in Chrome before I make the correct attachment:

THANK YOU for those two fixes! (it was annoying to go back and forth between Firefox and Chrome on these! )0 -
SLayton said: Hi Justin,
I apologize for the confusion with editing your photo tags. Right now, it seems to be working the same in Firefox as it does in Chrome. However, we (the Memories team) are aware this can still be very confusing*.
Here is one way to "Edit" the size that should always work. Try this:
Look at the tag list in the right-hand column, and click the "down arrow" on the tag you wish to re-size. Then click "Edit Tag". Now when you look at your photo, you'll see the green dot (lower right corner) that allows you to re-size the tag. Be sure to click "Save".
Also, underneath "Edit Tag" button is the "Delete Tag" button, so you can remove any extra tags.
You can only change your own tags, so you won't be able to Delete or Edit if someone else uploaded the photo & created the tag.
Thanks and I'll pass your feedback on to the rest of the team,
~Stacy (QA Memories)
*We hope to make this less confusing in the future. Right now, you can click the image and automatically edit the large autogenerated tag, but only sometimes. Specifically, it's when you see a banner over the image that says "Click the image to tag Person's Name", but only when you see that banner. You won't see this banner while in your Gallery, for example.0 -

I did follow your instructions for Edit Tag, and it worked wonderfully tonight!0
