Possibility of enabling more streamlined sharing of ordinances

I would suggest that you might want to consider adding a feature where I, or any other user, could click a button requesting the ordinance from the temple system. I do not wish to step on toes, but in conversations with Temple Presidents and Matrons, I have been told, particularly by Sealing to Parent being held up by Endowment, that the Temple system is well over a decade behind. As I am attempting to perform ordinances for these persons I believe it might assist in getting some more of the backlog taken care of. To be fair, I know other users have requested these ordinances and thus shared them, so I personally see nothing wrong with making this a provisional reservation until the original reserver approves the request for the reservation. Thanks for considering "my two cents worth."

Some of the things I am aware of because they have been discussed here or on Ron Tanner's Facebook Live broadcasts are things such as 1 temple list where the oldest will go first. Right now when you share with the temple it stays in your temple district, 1 master list will help share names between temples because not all have as long a wait.. Also, some names can be pulled off the temple list. Ordinances ready does this now and sometimes you can reserve from the temple list when on a person's page (i forget all the parameters of why) and those options will be growing..
Just know that Familysearch personnel are very aware and are working to find solutions to allow ordinances to be completed sooner. I am a patron just like you and have some male names waiting over 4 years now for endowments.0 -
JT said: Your request is already implemented in the 1-yr-old "Ordinances Ready" feature.
One of the top priorities of ordinance types it looks for, is people on your tree who have their respective ordinance shared with the temple system. It then gives you 90 days to perform that ordinance, before it reverts back onto the shared temple queue in the place it was already at.
Unfortunately the "Ordinances Ready" feature will only give you enough of the requested ordinance type, that you could do in one short / quick trip to the temple. And if your own reservation list already has enough for you to do in that one trip, it won't give you any more.0 -

We all share an active interest in using the resources of this site and as users, we have various levels of knowledge and experience and do our best to help each other with concerns, issues, and/or questions.
A couple of pieces of information:
The entire temple reservation and ordinance section of FamilySearch is undergoing a rewrite to get rid of old "borrowed from the previous system" code and address issues that have cropped up behind the scenes. Some of the results are the Ordinances Ready feature mentioned by Jon. Another is to consolidate temple-shared records from English language temples into a single pool, mentioned by Cindy.
In the meantime, if you come across a person's record where an ordinance is waiting on temple-shared (but not printed) ordinances that you wish to do, the instructions in the following article will help you obtain the ability to do the ordinances for close family members (this is not the same as a "close relative" that is spoken of with respect to the 110 year rule):

Another suggestion is to email the person who sent them to Temple File and ask them to release the ordinances. I am HAPPY to release names to ANYONE who requests them. ( I put nearly all my ancestor's ordinances in Temple File, keeping the Sealings for myself.(I'm a Sealer). When I want a name for the Temple, I "unreserve" it and do several over several days.
