I just poked around with my iPad and could not find any means by which an unconnected person could be added to the massive tree in FamilySearch. I tried several different approaches and none of them got me to a point where I could add a person to the tree.0 -
Tom Huber said: To be honest, I'm really surprised that there is no option. For instance, if I searched for the name of a person (using Find) and none were found, I should be able to add that person to the tree. I tried Recents, which in the web version, as the option at the bottom of the list. Not there in the iPad version.0

David Newton said: It's one of the major remaining holes in the mobile app functionality. It's one I have argued should be a very, very high priority to close. What can be done is to go to FSFT via a web browser and do it that way. Bit of a kludge, but it does work.0

In case anyone comes across this discussion from January 2020, I would note that in March 2020 both the iOS and Android mobile Tree apps added the ability to add an unconnected person. This is done via a button at the bottom of the Recents list.

An easy way to get to the bottom of a long Recents list is push the list down to get the Search bar at the top, and type a few random characters. For me usually "x" will do. That filters the Recents list and usually the Add Unconnected Person button will be visible without scrolling.
