Temple symbols

I called and was told I was right. It only makes sense that Temple symbol and its meaning were included in with the other legend symbols. I would appreciate the change.

Jeff Wiseman said: You could also just remove it completely. The empty box is there solely so that you can select items that you want to Unreserve or Unshare. Once the item that was shared with the temple has been printed, you no longer have any control over it. Therefore you should never have a checkbox at all for those items.
That is why the temple icon has been placed there--it is to show that the temple has taken control of that item and blocks you from selecting that item for unreserving or unsharing it. It is for BLOCKING that checkbox. NOT for indicating that the ordinances have been printed. That is already showing on the right side of that page. Using the temple icon as a way to see that the ordinance has been printed (or reserved by someone else for 90 days) is redundant since the "ordinance status" information is 3 columns over to the right.
Since the ordinance statues and their associated colored icons is on the right side of the page, the the colorless column on the left side of the page is for selecting items that you want to unreserve or unshare, those columns are for two totally different functions. Placing ordinance icon colors redundantly in the left column on top of a temple icon symbol which is already redundantly indicating an ordinance that has been printed seems to be a really bad idea that will just cause more confusion. As has already been shown, the meaning of that temple icon has NEVER really been obvious from the beginning. At least not to me in over last several years, and even the original poster who had to go ask someone about it himself.
So I suspect that any improvement here would be to totally REMOVE the temple icons in the left column altogether along with the checkbox that they are supposed to be blocking. If there is no checkbox next to an entry, it should be plainly obvious to ANYONE that the ability to select that item has been intentionally removed. And the reason it has been removed is in the right hand column (i.e., those ordinances are no longer unreservable or unsharable).
And they wouldn't be trying to figure out why a non-ordinance box has been assigned some particular color.
The K.I.S.S. principle should be used here IMHO. Don't put things in that just add redundancy and make lots of people ask questions.0 -
