Laura said: The 1900 US census says how many children a woman had. A great record hint would be to let us know if not all of these children are accounted for.
Bonus points for filtering on # children born before 1900, or for identifying if # children passed away by 1900 also matched.

Amy Archibald said: The 1910 US Census also has information about number of children and living children. Sometimes parents didn't consider stillborn children in these numbers. So even though the census numbers are helpful in looking for potential missing children in the Family Tree, they are not always correctly accurate in determining the makeup of the specific family.

These questions about children were asked on 3 US census records: 1890, 1900 and 1910.

Some UK census records also have this information.
