Sydney Jean McLeod Young said: Message Icon - Used to be I could right click and open the message icon in a new tab so I didn't have to change the tab I was working on. Can't do that any more. The option isn't there.

Paul said: It seems you now have to left click on the Messages icon, then right click on Show All Messages. Fortunately, the left click does not lose the page you are working on, but the former method was much more straightforward.

You will notice similar behaviour when making a left click on the options at the top of this page. A left click on Family Tree, Search, Memories, etc. does not take you anywhere - you need to right click on an item in the sub-menu.

Some users advise this method puts things in line with "standard practice" for most other websites. I still can't get used to doing this way, though, and would be pleased if it reverted to the "old way".

Tom Huber said: I agree, gasmodels -- it took me a number of tries to realize I didn't want an image of the icon.

    This is one case where:

FamilySearch! What were the programmers thinking? A link that is an image should never offer the option to open the icon image in its own tab!

Chrome on a Windows 10 computer.

Tom Huber said: The new submenu access is not nearly as much of a problem. First, there is no image that right-clicking can open in its own tab.

When I click on the FamilySearch Logo, I do not get an "Open image in its own tab" option. It gives me the option to open the home page in its own tab.
