Alan E. Brown said: I certainly see RecordSeek in my Connected Accounts. It is listed as "Real-Time Collaboration Inc - RecordSeek".
And just to make sure, I temporarily revoked access (which of course removed it from my Connected Accounts). Then I used the bookmarklet again, and RecordSeek used the OAuth2 authorization mechanism to once again request my authorization. Once I granted it, RecordSeek again appeared in Connected Accounts.
However, all the above used the bookmarklet, not the browser extension. When I used the extension, I had an experience I can't quite explain. I revoked access on Connected Accounts and signed out from FamilySearch. Then I went to a website totally unconnected to FamilySearch and used RecordSeek's extension. In the RecordSeek I was able to input a Person ID, which the extension successfully looked up and found the name for, then at the end of the flow it attached the source. Upon signing in to FamilySearch again, I went to that person and saw that there was a new source attached, with me as the contributor. I don't understand how the RecordSeek extension had permission to do that on my behalf with no OAuth2 authorization, and no active FamilySearch browser session. I'll have to explore that more to see what is going on.0 -

'Thank You' for that.
When I access the "Web" site for "RecordSeek", the "Extension" concept was on the page/screen; and, I assumed that "RecordSeek" was (just) a Browser "Extension" these days.
I will have to do some more investigation - my foray was just a quick one.

ps: Have I found another "Glitch" (ie. Fault/Flaw), perhaps.

Back from Church.
Just did a little digging.
'Yes', this "RecordSeek" is in fact one of those 'Browser' tools called "Extensions".
I re-read that "FamiySearch" 'Wiki' article regarding "RecordSeek":
RecordSeek
https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/...
-----
Quote:
RecordSeek places an "applet" on your internet browser bookmarks bar. This applet is called "RecordSeek" and can be used to autofill the fields used to create a source in Family Tree.
-----
And, I just re-checked my "Connected Accounts" under my "Settings"; and, the connect account of "Real-Time Collaboration Inc - RecordSeek" now appears.
Perhaps, either, I missed it the other day; or, I was too quick for "FamilySearch" to sync.
All good now; except, for what you found.

Jeff Wiseman said: I believe that the Extension concept is new here. In the past they only had the applet that you loaded into your bookmarks. I tried loading the Extension for Firefox on my iMac and I wound up with BOTH the extension and the previously existing applet. The extension provided a brand new icon up in the title bar area of the browser that is used to control it. Note that they didn't have an extension for Safari set up yet even though the icon was there on their site.
Unfortunately, the extension was behaving a little screwy (once you selected FS, everytime after that when you open it, it would always take me to the FS account and never allow me to select Ancestry.com anymore.) so I removed the extension and updated the applets I had.
I spite of all the information on their site, they do not have aged information on how to actually use the tool. For example, I couldn't find anything on their site that talked about this difference between their applets and their extensions. Furthermore, the tool has the ability that if you highlight text on the web page you want to make a source from, it will (supposedly) copy that text into the note or description of the source for you (I forget which). None of that is discussed anywhere on RecordSeek.com that I could find.0 -
Justin Masters said: Jeff, I found some of the same behavior with "once in Familysearch, you stay in Familysearch", but only as long as your session was still active (approx 20 minutes since last update, per familysearch policy). There was no logout feature to drop session info for recordseek. I dropped cookies and could start anew (if I recall correctly)0

Justin Masters said: Oh, I think if you open a new source for attachment, I think you get that option.
I'm not in a position to test it now though.0
