Christina Sachs Wagner said: Where are you trying to add it that it won't allow you? Maiden names should be used for women in their details on their PID. If your grandmother's maiden name is not showing on her PID, you should go ahead and edit/add it. You may then add her married name(s) under other information.0

Juli said: Judy, as Christina says, your question is unclear. FamilySearch is a very large website with a lot of different parts, and the error-correction possibilities are very different in the different parts.
One part of FS is indexed historical records, which you access using Search - Records. As of about a year ago, some indexes can be corrected (or technically more like amended), but some cannot. (When you open an editable search result, there will be an "edit" link next to any correctable names and dates.)
Another part of FS is unindexed historical records, which you access using Search - Catalog or Search - Images. The Catalog has an error-reporting mechanism at the bottom of each catalog page. I don't think this is relevant to your question, however, as the Catalog does not contain any references to individual people.
A third part of FS is the communal and open-edit Family Tree. Communal means that it is all one tree, intended to eventually have one -- and only one -- profile for every person who ever lived. Open-edit means that anyone can change anything in it (after signing in).
Yet another part of FS is the Genealogies, which are static uploads of people's family tree files. This is an uncorrectable archive; it can be a useful starting point, but you should not worry overmuch about mistakes in it. Just don't copy them to Family Tree. :-)0 -
JimGreene said: As an FYI, that may or may not help at this point. Every piece of information in our tree is editable. There is a small pencil icon or the word "edit" that you can click on and go in and make the changes you need. If you need help there are various ways to get you help. Generally, we do not do the editing, we let the users, those who know the family, be the ones to manage the information on their own families.0
