Ability to connect when you know two 'accounts' are the same

No option to connect accounts... In my case, LVFN-DJK and LVFN-NWP due to some quirk apparently.
I don't want either/or and not being connected is very inconvenient.
I was told they would automatically be connected when I started the newest entry.

Firstly, "Welcome" to this "FamilySearch" ("GetStaisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum.
Secondly, "Official 'FamilySearch' Representatives", do monitor; and, sometimes, participate in, this Forum.
Thirdly, I am just another User/Patron, just like yourself (and, happen to be a Member of the Church).
Many Users/Patrons who regularly participate in this Forum who have a great deal of knowledge and experience with "FamilySearch", like to assist/help other Users/Patrons like yourself.
Finally, can I take it from your post that you are, either, taking about, two (x2) extra "FamilySearch" Accounts in YOUR name; or, two (x2) separate (and, through the "System" distinct) "Living" individuals/persons in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch"!?
Scenarios
(1) Extra "FamilySearch" Accounts in YOUR name.
If you are talking about two (x2) extra "FamilySearch" Accounts in YOUR name, that you created; then, you will NOT find them in the 'Tab' for "Connected Accounts" in your "Settings".
If you want to "Delete"/"Remove" any "FamilySearch" Account(s) that you created in YOUR name; then, here is a "Knowledge Article" in "FamilySearch":
How do I delete my FamilySearch Account?
https://www.familysearch.org/help/sal...
(2) Separate "Living" individuals/persons in "Family Tree"
If you are talking about separate "Living" individuals/persons in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch"; then, provided (both) you created them; and, they are in your "Private Spaces" (as they are "Living" individuals/persons), you should be able to "Merge"/"Combine" them (into one).
I hope this helps.

Tom Huber said: Eric,
I'm confused over what you are talking about. From what I understand, a "connected account" refers to those sites that you have given permission to access your ancestral lines in FamilySearch FamilyTree. It has nothing to do with user accounts, living persons, or any other feature not associated with a third-party system.
Now, if I (or Brett) have not properly identified what you are talking about, it would be helpful to know more about what you are attempting to do, where you are accessing "Connect Accounts" (the above is from my settings for FamiySearch, under the Connected Accounts tab), and so on.0 -
Gordon Collett said: I think we have some terminology problems here. LVFN-DJK and LVFN-NWP are generally called ID numbers or PID numbers. They are numerical ID numbers for individuals in Family Tree, not account numbers.
Accounts only have user names.
When I look up these two IDs, I get:
This usually means that these are living individuals that only the user who created them can see and work with.
Erik, under what situation are you seeing these two ID numbers?
1) You have one Family Search account with one user name and you see both of these when you log in under that user name?
2) You have two different Family Search accounts with two different user names and you see one ID when you log in with one account and the other ID when you log into the second account?
In situation (1), you simply need to merge the two ID numbers using Merge by ID:
Since, I am assuming, these two IDs are both living, they will not show up as possible duplicates and you cannot merge them using the possible duplicates routine.
If you did have two user accounts and now have one, and support merged those two accounts so that you can see living in both of them, you have to do all the merging yourself.
In situation (2), you still have two accounts with two separate private spaces full of living individuals that cannot be merged from one account to the other. If support said merging these two accounts would combine the two private spaces into one, then it never happened and you have to contact support again to see if this really can be done or not.1 -
Jeff Wiseman said: Gordon, thanks for the clarification. You did miss the 3rd (and most common) situation:
3) You have two different Family Search accounts, each with the same living person name but each with a different PID.
This shows up when a wife has her own (living) PID in her own account and her husband wants to see that same (living) PID in his own account. The system will not allow that, forcing the husband to generate a duplicate record of his wife with a different PID.
Actually, you used to be able to do that a couple of years back, but FS changed it due to privacy laws.0
