Richard Groesbeck said: Temple Reservations color-coding issue/suggestion:
Issue: A person shows with a green temple. when you open the person and then check their ordinances, you find that their work is already shared with the temple. I can't tell if a person needs temple work submitted or not by when I see a green temple
Suggestion: change the color coding so that green only means that temple work is available and has not been reserved or shared with the system. If I am scanning the descendancy view and see a green temple, it should mean that action is needed.

Marcia Gay Bowie said: Hi Richard I'm very excited that we can now do the temple work for an ancestor who has been shared to the Temple. So the green Icon is totally appropriate. As long as the Temple has not printed the card for a Patron to do the work, the icon is green and we can still do the work for our ancestor. If the Temple has printed out a card, our Ancestor will not have a green icon. The Temple work will actually get done quicker for our ancestors. This is great. Hope this helps you understand what a good change this is.

Roger C. Nilsson said: I strongly agree with Richard's suggestion to change the color coding system so I know if an individual's ordinance work has already been reserved by someone else or been shared with the temple.

However, I understand the great need to clear the backlog of temple work and, like Marcia, like the idea of an indicator showing me that I can do an individual's work even if it's been previously reserved or shared with the temple.

I suggest that a better way needs to be found to accomplish both with either a different color or an indicator on the green icon.

Tom Huber said: There has been some discussion to provide a two green icons for the ordinances -- one green icon for (where the temple icon is involved) for at least one unreserved ordinance -- the rest may or may not be shared. The other (a darker color) indicating all ordinances are in the temple list shared pool.

I just got back my internet connection, so do not know if this has been discussed or what the story it.

I'll admit that the green temple has been so frustrating to me that I haven't done family history for days, and I usually work on it every night after the kids go to bed. I'm working on it today (because we push through even when things are inconvenient!), but wow, it would make such a difference if there were two different shades of green!

Dorothy Badger said: i agree - i was just trying to post a message to FS, but it won't post

basically, a missionary told me that there are many people who have a great deal of difficulty distinguishing colors .... red/green, shades of green, etc .... so i can see a need to make a change of some kind

and i am delighted with the additional feature of being able to reserve an ordinance that has already been shared with the temple

but like all of you, the lime green "can be requested" has become frustrating

my suggestion i am trying to post is to allow us to "hover" over the lime green, and have it show a message of complete information regarding that ordinance

for example: today i was looking at Bernard Sydnor Davis Sr (LJGW-F64) and when i hover over the E and SP (yellow color), they each provide a thorough explanation which includes "needs more information"

however, Bernard's sister Alva McNeal Davis (LJGW-XJF) shows light green for SP, and says "can be requested" - so i go to the ordinance page to make sure that the SP gets taken care of, and the information is much more complete and shows that it has already been reserved and shared with the temple

i am trying to make the suggestion that all the "hovers" (regardless of color) provide this type of complete information, which eliminates a LOT of page changes to find this same information

(and i have probably totally confused several, but i think it's a solution to eliminate the frustrations of color-distinguishing and information searching)
