But you used the term "Dismiss" which is more commonly used with hints rather than attachments. Can you provide a little more information or a screen shot to show the issue?0 -
Tom Huber said: Interesting, I think, but do not know for sure, that Jane was talking about the notice that says there are unfinished attachments. I saw the reference to census records, which also has a dismiss capability.
Jane, if that is what you were referring to, then the dismiss is to get rid of the Unfinished Attachments notice. It does not detach any attachments, and it does not prevent a search from discovering that not all attachments have been made.
I'm not so sure that the ability to dismiss the attachment notice is a good thing because I think that it is dismissed for that record for all those who are attached to that record. (Again, I don't know this is accurate, but that has been what I thought was happening from previous discussions about this particular feature.
Regardless, because it dismisses the notice and does not detach any attachments, it is more a matter of convenience.
That said, when we dismiss hints or any research helps, we are asked to provide a reason for our dismissing the help, hint, or whatever.
You are correct, Jane, we should have the opportunity to provide a reason we are dismissing the notice, just as when we dismiss a hint or other research help.0 -
Jane K Scea said: i was referring to the sources of an individual. When one goes to the sources sometimes the source is not attached to all of the people in the record. That is when you see review attachments. Dismiss is an option, however there is no place to enter the reason why you are dismissing the Review Attachments.0

Tom Huber said: Correct, and I fully agree that we need the option of entering why we dismissed the Notice.0
