Error correction.

    It depends where you are finding the error. If it is in the Family Tree program, you can correct the name yourself. However, if this has been found through a search at https://www.familysearch.org/search/ there are different sets of circumstances.

    Some records CAN now be amended. However, some still cannot. You should bear in mind that if the error appears in the original document the name should not be changed - although, where possible, a note about the wrong spelling should be added.

    I'm sure another FamilySearch will add their advice here but, firstly, it would really help if you do indicate exactly where you have found this "error".
