Carolyn Mary Cammack said: I love FamilySearch and log in daily. I wish there is a way to move photos around in Memories so they can be arranged in chronological order. I have many photos of my Grandmother added to Memories at different times, but they appear in random order. Thank you

We all share an active interest in using the resources of this site and as users, we have various levels of knowledge and experience and do our best to help each other with concerns, issues, and/or questions.

This feature request was brought up recently. The Gallery of your uploads has a couple of options for arranging the uploaded material, but not the memories tab for individual profiles.

Since this is commonly requested, I suspect it is on the list of to-be-developed features, but as to where, we aren't told even if it is on the list.

I would love to be able to sort my memories by date like you can do with the sources.

I appreciate all efforts made by our great FS teams. I've held off entering memories for years because I really want them to be in chronological order. Do you have any idea when this will be implemented? Also, if we are not the author, are we required to contact each author and ask them to enter the date?

I have been waiting for years to be able to order memories chronologically, like you can do with sources. Just a simple click and drag, or a box you can click that puts them in alphabetical order by title (all mine start with dates). I don't understand why this isn't a thing yet! But I think it would be really helpful for people to explore an ancestor's life in order.

This is now available. It is one of the new features in the new update to the Person pages. Turn on the slider in the top right corner to switch to the new pages.

(It's actually just a link, not a slider, in the top right corner that says "Go To New Person Page.")

It will be interesting to see if this new feature really satisfies what people envision it satisfying.

because truth is - unless you uploaded all the items yourself -- - you can not control the dates that others have entered (or more often not entered) that will control how things get ordered.

To make it as useful as it could be, they will have to update the memories page to make it possible for anyone to add a date, not just the person who uploaded the item.

right -- but many people cringe when they think of FS letting other people edit items that those other people never uploaded.

Well, I'm the only one who uploads memories on my tree. Literally the only one. So at least I should be able to order the memories. I uploaded 100% of them!

I see that it has been over 2 years since this subject was addressed. I hope someone is working on this. I think it would be very helpful in organizing the photos in memories.

    Any update please post

This function is part of the updated Family Tree pages. On a person’s detail page click on the link to use the new version. Then on the Memories page you will find a new Filters button where the option is found.

This initial implementation has a problem in that only the person who uploaded a memory can add a date. But it is a step forward.

This has just been implemented with the new person page. One sort option is to sort Chronological. Unfortunately on my image there is an event date, but the date cannot be entered! So capability should be there soon.

The Memories survey that pops up for some profiles when accessing Gallery asks questions about whether access should be available for all users to input date, location, etc. on other user contributed photos. If you feel strongly that others should be able to do so - I suggest you take the survey.

This would be extremely helpful!!! My family has lots of different people adding memories but no one has added in the DATE of the memory so being able to put them in chronological order is still NOT POSSIBLE!!!

Several threads were merged into this. We are aware of the desire to change the dates of memories uploaded by other, but that is not currently available.
