Are Images in Conversation Messages Permanent?

If after I send that Conversation Message with the image, What happens if I delete that image from my memories. Will it:
A) Disappear from on conversation messages that I have sent in the past (i.e., the way it does in the FamilySearch Community groups), or
Remain permanently in any of the messages that I've sent (i.e., the way it does here in the GetSatisfaction group)?
I really hope that it is "B" since I really don't want my memories getting all cluttered up with hundreds of images that if I toss them, it destroys the coherency of any conversation messages that I've sent.

This is pretty ridiculous. That is like me emailing several people a picture, and then sometime in the future I just delete it from my photos album and it magically DISAPPEARS from all emails on the systems of anyone who had received it from me.
If you want to use this for collaboration, you will never have a guarantee that information you need will still be there when you go back to it for any reason.
This is an extremely poor design decision!
Now I have to maintain an entire collection of images in my memories area for anything I ever used to explain something to someone with. Most of these will be one-off type images and will have no interest to anyone else on the system, and would not be useful to attach to any records in the tree.0
