M Geesey said: How do I make corrections to the standardized place names? Currently, "Baselland" is an accepted place name for the part of Canton Basel, Switzerland known officially as "Basel-Landschaft". This name did not exist before the Canton of Basel split into two half cantons in 1833. Ideally the following should be the only acceptable standardized place names:
Basel, Switzerland (before 1833)
Basel-Stadt, Switzerland (after 1833)
Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland (after 1833)

Cities, regions, and towns could be added before the above names, but "Baselland" is an English aberration that should never be acceptable.

For the record, "Baselland" is more than an English abberation. It forms the bulk of the Canton's official website's URL: https://www.baselland.ch/

so that it is represented correctly here Basel Landschaft
however we say baselland and Basel Baselstadt (for the place) Baselstadt has only 3 parishes Basel Riehen and Bettingen
