my moms birth cert says she is cherokee, her moms school records from 1932 and 1933 says she is cherokee but we cannot find anything else on my grandmother. She had no birth certificate, she was born at home. So I am not sure who the Cherokee comes from grandmothers mom or dad? I do not know where to look for additional information.

Maybe you can find a link to the grandmother by finding a common ancestor prior to her birth?
