I am doing a research on a very rare surname, OLIZON, and I found one in New York, but, the wife doesn't have any surname. Where or how can I avail of some records in the 1700s? Name : George Olizon b.1755 New York wife - Catherine.

I wish to avail records where I could research more of his family, children, county of origin (if they are immigrants). There are some Olizon in the Philippines, but they have no Catholic Church Records. One Francisco Jorge Olizon was married in Tondo Presbyterian Church in Manila in 1914, but parents name was not written in the marriage record. I did a little research of the History of the Presbyterian Church in New York which started in 1706.

I will.greatly appreciate any help you could extend to me regarding this research. Thank you very much.

Micrisanto; Can you give us the FamilySearch record Id for George? It would help us see what research has already been done. We do want to help you.

George Olizon (b.1755) LR6B-1QZ Wife: Catherine/Catharine -LR6B-1KM Then, there was a certain Vicente Olizon < 1865-70>G4YN-LZB Wife:Antera Jorge G4YN-JMK who has children in the Philippines whom we can not find any record. Their (Vicente & Antera) eldest was a son named Francisco J. Olizon LD6T-BB9 (b. 1895-1897) was married in a Presbyterian Church in Tondo, Manila in 1914, but Parents name was not written. I read some Wiki information on the foundation of the First Presbyterian Church in the US particularly in NY which was 1716 in what is presently 14 Wall Street. The first Presbyterian Church in the Philippines was led by Rev. Dr. James B. Rodgers in April 21, 1899, a few months after the Spaniards left the Philippines and the Americans took in. Francisco J. Olizon has no Catholic Record of Christening neither Vicenta and Antera has record of their Marriage here in the Philippines. The Tondo Presbyterian Church in Manila got destroyed in WW2. I hope these informations would be of great reference. Maraming salamat pô.(Thank you very much)
