How can I upload another family tree and keep it separate from my original tree.

That would be in the "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySearch' ...
.
As, we DO NOT have Our OWN 'Trees' in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' ...
.
This is where you can upload a GEDCOM File.
.
https://www.familysearch.org/mytrees/trees
.
Now ...
Here are some things that you need to know/understand ...
.
Those GEDCOM Files that you 'uploaded' to the "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySearch' will NOT contain any individual/person from that GEDCOM File that is REMOTELY considered as "Living" (ie. No "Death" details) - purely and simple for 'Privacy'.
.
Plus, those GEDCOM Files that you 'uploaded' to the "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySearch' are for RESEARCH purposes ONLY; and, can be viewed by ALL "Registered" Users/Patrons.
.
And, those GEDCOM Files that you 'uploaded' to the "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySearch' are 'Static'; that is to say that, they cannot be "Edited" (ie. "Changed"), they can ONLY be "Deleted"; and, replaced by an updated version.
.
Now ...
That said ...
.
Most Users/Patrons do not understand the basic nature and premise of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', when they join in.
.
Please let me explain ...
.
We do not have our OWN "Tree" in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
We ONLY have "Branches" (ie. Ancestral" lines), that are interconnected, in this SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us, that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is NOT like 'On-Line' "Websites" (eg. "Ancestry_com"; or "MyHeritage_com"; or, the like); and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes (eg, the OLD, now no longer supported, "PAF"; or, "Ancestral Quest"; or, the like).
.
We DO NOT have "Private"/"Personal" 'Trees' in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' like other 'On-Line' "Websites"; and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes.
.
We do not even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, the "Deceased" individuals/persons in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is built on a "Open Edit" Platform - hence, why any registered User/Patron can "Edit" (ie. Add, Delete; and/or, Change) ANY "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
I hope this helps.

Brett has already given you some good information but I'd like to appended this.
Your question infers that you are assuming the FSFT works the same as in Ancestry, MyHeritage, or a number of any other "pay-for" type genealogical websites. That is not the case as FSFT is totally different.
Since there is only one "tree" in the FSFT database, the system is set up to eliminate any kind of duplicates. So if you attempted to do what you have asked about, you would not only run into a lot of frustration, but as soon as you got your second "tree" into the database, it would start to dissolve as the system identified all of the records in it as duplicates to other records in the tree. Then anyone else working gin the tree would be taking those records from your 2nd "tree" and merging them into other more well established person records.
The system is set up so that there is only ONE record in the system for any person in the world and it will be trying to remove all the duplicate you put in.

Regardless of the inference in 'Nancy's original 'Question' ...
.
I did NOT want to 'go there', with that, with my FIRST response ...
.
I want 'Nancy' to, consider; and, then, respond ...
.
Often with the, new; and/or, inexperienced, Users/Patrons, in this "Community.FamilySearch Forum", too much information (like I often provide ...), is 'information overload' ...
.
I was going to go into my usual 'speel'; but, decided, I would initially provide 'Nancy' with an ALTERNATIVE (ie. the "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySearch') than starting another "Ancestral" line (whether connected/related or not) in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; plus, with basic nature and premise of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
Depending on her response, I was going to address that with further information, as appropriate.
.
As 'Nancy' was NOT directly indicating she wanted to immediately upload a GEDCOM File directly into "FamilySearch" of 'FamilySearch', I was tying a more ... softly, softly ... approach - rather than my normal tirade ...
.
Just for info ...

Thank you so much for you help. I am sorry that I didn't realize this. I am new at using this site for my family tree. I only asked the question because I was confused, and I could not find the answer to my question. I really appreciate the explanation. Thank you Brett, you were absolutely correct. I was just trying to figure the site out. I have another family tree for my son-in-law that is separate from mine. I was totally confused, which is why I asked for help in understanding. I have used this site for research, but never shared my family tree on it. Please understand it is a learning curve for me. I regret asking the question.

You should never regret asking such a question.
There was nothing at all wrong with your question.
That sort of question, gets asked a lot, by new and inexperienced Users/Patrons.
.
We have all been there ... NEW
You are not alone.
.
In fact, the "Ancestral" line of your Son-In-Law, can just be an extension (ie. extended "Branch") of YOUR "Ancestral" lines, through your Daughter.
.
Basically, we have many "Branches" (ie. Ancestral" lines), that are interconnected, in this SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us, that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
As an aside ...
.
Many Users/Patrons use, BOTH, "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; and, also still maintain their own, Personal; and, sometimes 'Private', TREES (eg. "Pedigrees") - often more than one; as, databases, on, On-Line' "Websites" (eg. "Ancestry_com"; or "MyHeritage_com"; or, the like); and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes (eg, the OLD, now no longer supported, "PAF"; or, "Ancestral Quest"; or, the like).
.
Here is a good place to start, with how things work in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' (and, other programmes as well), which is, external to; and, certainly not part of, 'FamilySearch':
