When searching immigration records in familysearch.org, how do you filter on arrival date, for example, only provide records with arrival date of 1905. Thanks.

Question: WHAT Country are you search for immigration records?

'FamilySearch' has records from all around the World.

And, 'FamilySearch' is used by Users/Patrons from ALL around the World.

Here is a link to the page that lists all the NARA Rolls for Ellis Island. There are quite a few rolls for 1905.

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/index?owc=https://www.familysearch.org/service/cds/recapi/collections/1368704/waypoints

You can get to the previous link by clicking on 'Browse through 3,243,589 Images' at the bottom of this page.

    Enjoy!

Is the person you are searching for in Family Tree? Could you share the ID for the person? I believe I can try to explain better how to filter on the search page if I have the name you're looking for.

Scrolling to the bottom of the search page on the left side of the page you will see the Filter section. Depending on what you know about the person you're searching for you can narrow it down quite a bit. I'd be happy to help search if you want to share the name.

    .

There are are a number Websites with such records.

    .

Each website will have different ways to filter ...

    .

    What website are you accessing?

You have not provided a particular website that you are accessing ...

    .

It is not that we do not understand ...

    .

We need the details of any particular websites that you are accessing to be specific as to how to filter for ... 1905.

    .

[ Even then, we may not be familiar with that website/those websites ... ]

    .

    As an aside ...

    .

Have you tried these resources in the 'FamilySearh' "Wiki":

    .

United States Immigration Online Genealogy Records

    https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/United_States_Immigration_Online_Genealogy_Records

    .

United States Immigration and Naturalizations Online Resources

    https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/United_States_Immigration_and_Naturalizations_Online_Resources

    .

United States Naturalization and Citizenship Online Genealogy Records

    https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/United_States_Naturalization_and_Citizenship_Online_Genealogy_Records

    .

An, not that this has records for 1905; but, it may give to some ideas on who to contact.

    .

New York Passenger Arrival Lists (Ellis Island) - FamilySearch Historical Records

    https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/New_York_Passenger_Arrival_Lists_(Ellis_Island)_-_FamilySearch_Historical_Records

    .

Have you tried contacting the Record Repository (ie. Office) at "Ellis Island" directly, for help (even, all-be-it, 'On-Line' helps)?

    .

    Never give up ...

    @Eric Duda

If you have a name and a range of birth year to search with then add those and click search. Then on that page you will then scroll down that search page and click on the filter 'Other Year (Range)' --select 1900 then 1900 again since it only filters down to the decade.

If you are not sure of the name then you will need to browse the NARA Rolls for 1905 that are at this link

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/index?owc=https://www.familysearch.org/service/cds/recapi/collections/1368704/waypoints

Each roll has a specific date in 1905.

    Does that help any?

maybe the UI just doesn't support the feature. which is surprising as most other sites with records support filter by arrival date.

FamilySearch filters by decade from what I can see. Filtering by decade does take out quite a few hits so you don't have to look through thousands though especially if you have a little information on the person you're searching for.

If you have a MyHeritage.com account it looks like they do filter to 1905.

yes, myhertiage and ancestrycom can filter by an arrive date. i already know that. i'm asking about familysearch as sometimes the info is different between sites.

filter by decade is not useful.
