Got a teaser in my pop up this morning, saying I was related to Mayflower Edward Winslow. How do I see where he fits in my tree? If I put his name in it just brings up his family not connecting it to mine.
Thank you in advance! I love this website!

correct - what the algorithm does is shows you how you and the given person have a common ancestor - (i.e. in most cases a distant cousin)

though it will indeed show direct line ancestors also.

but to clarify - what that means is that one of your ancestors was a 2nd cousin of Edward Winslow.

Well THATS embarrassing! It was easy enough to find. Unfortunately I don't think the 2nd cousin 12 x removed will count when applying!😂
