Hello, I was wondering if there was an update that changed the way we search for records? I can no longer see the Image number or the arrows that would allow me to go forward or backwards. I would really appreciate your help with this. Thanks!

I suspect that you are need of deleting cookies. Cookies are small pieces of code that FamilySearch and other websites store on your computer. Using cookies allows FamilySearch to customize your experience for you. You can often solve the problem by deleting the cookies stored on your computer:

    1. Go to https://familysearch.org/cookies .
    2. When the Reset your cookies? appears, click Yes.
    3. (Optional) Reset your cookie preferences, if you do not like the default choice. Instruction are listed in the related articles, below.

Note: This feature only removes FamilySearch cookies from your browser.

    Hello @RosieElberson1 RosieElberson1

I'll check this on my site. But if you could give us the ID on FamilySearch.org Family Tree. That would help. And the film you are concerned with.

    Thanks loads.

    @RosieElberson1 RosieElberson1

I can't seem to duplicate the error on my site.

So, the Family Tree ID of your ancestor and the film name would help.

    Thanks Loads.

Short Answer: Not that I am aware of ...

    .

    I just checked ...

    .

    Moving between Images.

    But ...

    That said ...

    .

That is just one set of Records, the "1881, Census of England and Wales".

    .

Other sets of Records MAY have "Restrictions" that ONLY allow a particular "Image" of the relevant Record to be accessed/viewed.

    .

    FYI

    .

One of the main ones being that the Record "Custodian" has placed such a PERMISSION / AUTHORITY for such.

    .

Another one being that the 'On-line' ("Commercial") PAID (ie. "Subscription") Websites pay a Fee to the Record "Custodian", for access to; and, permission/authority to display, such Records; and, 'FamilySearch' is requested to, limit such access/viewing.

    .

But, there are a myriad of reasons.

    .

Whenever the Church goes to a Record "Custodian" to request permission to "Film" the Records, the Church (ie. 'FamilySearch') enters into Contractual Agreements/Arrangements with the Record "Custodian".

    .

    You must understand that:

    .

▬ There are COUNTLESS Records, all around the World.

    .

▬ And, there are COUNTLESS Record "Custodians", all around the World.

    .

▬ Naturally, of course, the Church (ie. 'FamilySearch') must enter into COUNTLESS Contractual Agreements/Arrangements with the various Record "Custodians".

    .

It is a, legal; and, logistical, 'mine field' and 'nightmare'; that is, ever (ie. constantly) changing.

    .

As has already been requested, what is the particular Record (and/or, set of Records), knowing such would enable members of this Forum to better advise/assist/help you ...
