How does someone go about gaining access to a copyrighted publication listed in the FamilySearch ar
I am interested in the Adkins family line and note a number of publications that may be relevant to my research. Sadly the ones that may have relevance are copyright protected.

. . . usually you visit the Family History Library in person and see the books there
or use WORLDCAT to find a library closer to you that has a copy.
OR better yet if you are really interested in the info you can contact the author if they are alive.

My challenge will be to determine which of many publications is most relevant to my research. Unless I can gain some idea of the publication's content, my checklist of books to pursue will be beyond reasonable.
