I have a friend who wants to put in information about her grandfather's brother. She has talked to her grandfather, but because of his age, he doesn't remember information about his brother. However he remembers the names of his brother's children.

However, since she doesn't know the name of the children's father, she can't put them or their father in family search. Any suggestions?

    .

Short Answer: 'Yes', she certainly can ...

    .

She KNOWS his 'Family Name'/'Surname' ...

She just does not know his 'Given'/'Christian' Name(s), yet.

[ or, any other details, yet]

    .

Just add the Grandfather's Brother with just a 'Family Name'/'Surname'; and, NO other details (eg. NO 'Family Name'/'Surname'); as, all other "Details" can be left BLANK; and, added at a LATER time, when; and, if, those details are obtained.

    .

The Children of her Grandfather's Brother can then be added.

    .

    I hope this helps.
