@Kade Carlson Maires​ You seem to be working on Wisconsin Death Records recently. When you look at the Field Help instructions (the purple circle with the question mark at each field) it says to not put in the dashes. I hope that this is able to help you.

Social Security numbers have two dashes. 123-45-6789.
