Do you want to add someone that you can be their helper? It does not usually work the other way around.
Do you see under your name on a computer, the Help Others click on that and enter the information that is asked for. You can also find Helper resources in the drop down menu under the ? icon to the left of your name and there is a space to send an email invitation there to be someone's helper.

Please clarify what you intend to accomplish by adding a helper.
Its quite possible your perception of the Help Option is not actually how it works.
Also - are you a member of the LDS church?
