Remove a child and add him to another parent.

An aunt died, after bearing 3 children. The uncle remarried and they had a child, who I erroneously attributed to the first wife. How do I correct that?

    Randolph,

You need to detach or remove the child from the first wife. You can then add that person as a child to the second wife. Please give me the PID in FamilySearch and I can take a look at it and better help you.

    Hope this helps,

    Carol

    First things first ... advice/hint

    .

DO NOT "Delete"/"Remove" the Child from the Aunt (who died) and Uncle, to start with.

    .

    Now ...

    That said ...

    .

Take note of; or, copy, the PID, for the Child.

IF, you have not already; THEN, add the NEXT Spouse/Wife to you Uncle.

IF, or, whence, done; THEN, "ADD" the Child to your Uncle and his next spouse.

    .

NOW you can "Delete"/"Remove" the Child from the Aunt (who died) and Uncle.

    .

Better to be safe, rather than sorry ... Add first, then Delete/Remove last.

That way you do not loose track of someone, it is so easy to do ...

    Been there, done that ...

    .

You can use the "Remove" or "Replace" option in "Parent-Child" Relationships; but, unless you are confident and know what you are doing, the steps I suggest are the safest.

    .

    Just my thoughts.
