Help identifying an old drawing? Artwork?
This was in an old box of stuff belonging to my husbands grandmother who passed away many many years ago... it looks like a pencil drawing. The only word I can find is “peaceful” in the bottom left hand corner. There is nothing on the back. The frame in the photos is the same frame it was in when we got it. I’d like to know the location if possible. Anyone recognize it?

I did an image search on the house itself and kept coming up with pictures of court-houses 😊
It might be just a free style drawing of something that only existed in the artist's head. There are a few things that might indicate this.
For example, the main entrance of the house seems to be only accessible from the water. It normally was uncommon to build a house that large, that close to the water. And is that ocean or lake front? The shoreline doesn't have the look of an ocean front. Predominant breezes coming off the ocean would also cause those trees to be growing in the opposite direction. You typically see that type of growth on small lakes or rivers. Also, it is more typical when there is crowding from other trees (there doesn't seem to be any crowding there)
The view does seem to be looking in an easterly or south easterly direction so your "greenhouse" would be on the south or south western side of the building. Maybe a "sun room"? The round dormers on top of the house are interesting. I know that they were common in Europe, but I don't know about the New England states.
So, yea. It might just be a "peaceful" drawing created by the artist.

where did the artist live?

I tried editing out the frame and using Google's tool to find similar images, but this image didn't come up in that search.

Ty @Elizabeth Steen ive also tried the reverse searching online with no luck. I find that google seems to almost always get it wrong as far as what I’m searching for. I think yandex has much better results, but still couldn’t find this one:(

I’m wondering if those ships in the background have a specific name as the type? “Sail boat” didn’t work for me lol ... and anyone know maybe what kind of trees those are? And is that a greenhouse on the end of that building? I’m assuming it’s someone’s home? Would that be called “Plantation” style?

They're gaff rigged, possibly fishing boats.

That looks like a blend of Greek and Italianate Architecture to me. I think that is called a hipped roof and those are eyebrow dormers and eyelid windows along the roof line. Then it appears that there are columns. The trees remind me of the gnarly olive trees that grow in rocks over waters in Greek ports. I'm guessing a peaceful harbor on a greek island or along the almafi coast of Italy. Was grandpa a veteran of WWII? It seems like they often purchased prints from street artists which winds up in antique stores.
