Miss spelled names.
Should I correct the spelling of someones name or leave it as it is. My Grandfathers name was Harold but it has been spelled as Harould which, as such a close relation, it seems to jump out at me. I would be grateful for any advice.

Question:
.
Where are you seeing this ...
.
▬ for a "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'?; or,
.
▬ in a "Pedigree" ('standalone' File) in the "Genealogies" part of 'FamilySearch'?; or,
.
▬ a "Source" that is "Attached" to a "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'?
.
Now ...
That said ...
.
IF, the 'Given' name of your Grandfather was 'Officially' (Documented as), "Harold"; and, NOT, "Harould"; THEN ...
.
IF, it is for a "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; THEN; 'Yes', (as a "Registered" User/Patron) you can and should correct that.
.
Whereas ...
.
IF, it is in a "Pedigree" ('standalone' File) in the "Genealogies" part of 'FamilySearch'; THEN; 'NO', you will NOT be able to correct that.
.
The ONLY thing that can be done for such 'standalone' Files, is that they be "Deleted"/'Removed", by the User/Patron who uploaded them (and, if required, an updated 'standalone' Files be uploaded).
.
Furthermore ...
.
IF, it is a "Source" that is "Attached" to a "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'?; THEN; that depends, if there is the ability, in that "Source", to "Edit" the "Indexed" 'Given' Name.
.
NOT all "Sources" have the ability to "Edit" the "Indexed" parts of the record - ONLY certain ones do.
.
I hope this helps.

Also keep in mind Alternate / additional names can be added to a record in FamilySearch Family Tree (if that was what you were referring to) - it doesnt just have to be only the legal/official name.
