As I understood from the community member answers, I must be the LDS Church member in order to see "
use with another site like GENI, for example. Appreciate your help. U.P.

We cannot "Download" our "Ancestral" lines (eg. Pedigree) directly from/through "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
The best (and, really the only) way to so such, is with/through one of the "Third Party" Applications that are "Certified" to work with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
And, as an aside ...
.
We do not have our OWN "Tree" in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
We ONLY have "Branches" (eg. "Ancestral" lines ), that are interconnected, in this SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us, that is "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch".
.
Now ...
That said ...
.
Such "Third Party" Applications that are "Certified" to work with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' can be found in the "Solutions Gallery" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
Here is a direct 'link' to the "Solutions Gallery" of 'FamilySearch':
https://partners.familysearch.org/solutionsgallery/s/
.
That 'link' can be found on, the "Menu", at the 'Bottom', of most pages/screens.

I hope this helps.

Geni will allow you to upload a ged com file. The problem is FS Doesn’t appear to have an export button. So print out A pedigree, go to legacy Free version or geni and Begin again. It won’t take long. I’ve documented so Over 200 in a 4 hour period. But don’t leave. Every time you document a problem s here in Communities and tell how you solved it or let someone tell you whAt to do you are helping countless People.

As Kday's response demonstrates, it's kinda hard to peel the sense from between Brett's profusion of punctuation, so here it is again:
You do _not_ need to start from scratch, but you cannot download a GEDCOM file directly from FamilySearch. You need to use one of the family tree programs that can synchronize with FS: AncestralQuest, Legacy, or Roots Magic. All three can be found using the Solutions Gallery, and all three offer a free version which should be able to do what you need.

I take it this is secret code for,”I’m frustrated”? Happy Ha Like she said you aren’t starting over you’ll have a pedigree to work from. It goes very quickly.

Dear Julia, I thank you for your guidance, just as I would like to thank you Brett and Kdaymayday Kdaymayday.
I do have RootsMagic 7 and wonder how to work it into "copying" my Tree into it (for further conversion to GEDcom format).
Appreciate your help.

Have you seen this?

Dear Jeff, this Video is the most helpful tip I have gotten so far. Although Julia was also very helpful, but you were right on the money. Thank you so much. You saved me a ton of time. Bless you!

FWIW, I was directed to that video from the RootsMagic website. I do not use RootsMagic myself, but from the few times I've been on their website I've noticed that they do have A LOT of video tutorials on using the tool (most of which they have put on YouTube).
This download capability on RootsMagic works almost identical to how it works in Ancestral Quest. Just be aware that each generation that you had to the download feature increases the download time exponentially, so you might want to try it with smaller numbers at first (e.g., 4 generations of Ancestors and 1 generation of descendants)

I followed the video instructions and it worked from the second time. I understand that FamilySearch has its limitations. I also could not figure out how to import all my pictures and multiple notes and references to many individuals. Is there any way to bring those linked to a specific person to RootsMagic7 (I use that version). Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that you can do this but it is likely only on a person by person basis. I.e., you go to the person on your RootsMagic database that is linked to FS and do a compare. From there, select which items you want copied over, and then do a sync on them. Ancestral Quest has this same capability/limitation.
