How to contact tree owners?

Are your referring to, either,
(1) "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; or,
(2) the ('standalone') 'Pedigrees' in "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySeach'?
.
IF, you are referring to "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; THEN ...
.
We do not have our OWN "Tree" in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
We ONLY have "Branches" (ie. "Ancestral" lines or "Pedigrees"), that are interconnected, in this SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us, that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
Whereas ...
.
IF, you are referring to the ('standalone') 'Pedigrees' in "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySeach'; THEN, those 'Pedigrees' are, 'Static'; and, unconnected.
.
Either way ...
.
Be-it the "Deceased" individuals/persons in, either, "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; or, those in the ('standalone') 'Pedigrees' in "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySeach' ...
.
You can try to "Send" a 'Message' through "User Messaging" in 'FamilySearch', to a User/Patron associated with those "Deceased" individuals/persons, in, either, "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; or, those in the ('standalone') 'Pedigrees' in "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySeach'.
.
But ...
That said ...
.
You, either, might; or, might NOT, get a response ...
.
Whereas, you might get lucky and get a response.
.
I hope this makes sense.
.
Any questions regarding my answer, please do not hesitate to ask.
.
I hope this helps.

no one really "own the tree" or any tree in FS
all million users all have access to all the records in FS FT
Its a collaborative system
see:

As Brett pointed out, there is only ONE owner for the single, shared FamilySearch FamilyTree and that is FamilySearch themselves. All of the rest of us are allowed by FS to go in and make contributions and amendments to the FSFT.
The Genealogies database in the FS site contains many GEDCOM files that owners have stored there. Nobody (including the owner) can modify any of them. The owner can remove or replace them with other GEDCOM files if they wish, but the contents remain static. Anyone on the system can search their contents though.

My own tree is on here and updated nearly every week and if others want to contact me about it, the more the better as we can all gain by it. Yesterday I found a tree on here with regard to the Cavers family with whom I have 2 DNA matches on Ancestry and the tree uploader on here has their ancestors back to the 1700s. I want to contact him/her to find out more but there is no sign anywhere on the tree page as to how to do this?

When you say that "... Yesterday I found a tree on here ..." ...
Where is "...HERE..."?
.
You still have NOT answered the most important 'Question '... that will help us advise you.
.
Are your referring to, either,

(2) the ('standalone') 'Pedigrees' in "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySeach'?
.
They are two (x2) distinctly, separate; and, different, 'areas' of 'FamilySearch'.
.
Please advise.

Yes - most of us assumed you were referring to FamilySearch Family Tree (where there are no tree owners) - but like Brett points out - it may have been elsewhere - so let us know so we can best answer your question.

John,
Again, there is only ONE tree in the FamilySearch FamilyTree, although there may be some disjoint segments. For this reason it is very unlikely that only one person has worked on any given segment of the FamilyTree.
To actually see this, go to any person record that you are interested in and on the details page for that person go to the "Latest Changes" section and select "Show All". This will list all of the changes ever made to that record along with the FS IDs of all the people who made those changes.
By clicking on the name of the person who made any given change, you can message that person through the FS messaging feature.
You will also discover that given several person records on any segment of the single shared FamilyTree, there will be MANY different people who have contributed to those records.

So the answer is that there is no way to contact the person who set up the Cavers tree?

That depends ... on where you say you found the "Cavers" ...
.
And, NO, not necessarily, you may be able to at least send out a "Message" through "User Messaging" of 'FamilySearch' (or, possibly, even a direct e-mail, if a User's/Patron's "E-mail Address" is "Public"); and, you may even get a response.
.
But, just remember, you may NOT get a response - there are a number of reasons for such; but, the main ones being that, the User/Patron has passed away themselves; or, the User/Patron no longer use "FamilySearch'.
.
Once, again, where in 'FamilySearch' did you see the "Cavers"?
.
And,
If, in "Family Tree"; then, what is one of the 'FamilySearch Person Identifiers' (PIDs)?
or
If, in the "Genealogies"; then, what is the URL?
.
Never, say never ...

Can you send us a copy of the url link to the tree you are referencing.
some of the trees in the Pedigree Resource File - could probably be 40 years old - and the people dead and gone.
so we need to know precisely the link to this resource so we can give you some tips to see what strategy to use to contact the submitter - if eve possible.
