What to do with 2 wives that appear to be one
Harmon f Wolfmeyer LHQ2-9TX
in his lifetime has 3 wives or maybe only two.
He has Hattie E Miller GWB6-C5F
Helen Miller GWYY-MLH.
Edith Brown.
in an source for 1939 it states that Helen Krienberg’s parents are Edgar and Mary Anna Miller. That would make their daughter’s maiden name Miller.
or Helen Miller.
Helen’s mother remarried in 1898.
Her last name now Slater.
in the 1910 Census it show Joshua and Mary ann and 2 step children with last names Miller. But one is named Hattie E Miller And the other William H Miller.
so what happened to Helen?
Hattie marries Harmon F Wolfmeyer in 1912.
I know the transcriber says it’s Carmen but it’s actually Harmon {bad cursive writing and very light ink.}
and Hattie’s mother’s name is Mary not Mattie.
in1915 she has a son but he dies in 1916
she has two more children named Wolfmeyer.
In the 1920 census she is listed as Hattie Wolfmeyer.
In 1930 she is listed in the census as Helen Kreinberg.
Helen reappears and Hattie disappears.
in that same Census Helen has 2 step children with last names Wolfmeyer.
so Hattie Miller-Wolfmeyer becomes Helen Kreinberg. She dies in 1939
Harmon remarried in the late 1930’s to Edith Brown.
Their needs to be a divorce In there somewhere but I have not found one.
So is Helen Miller and Helen Kreinberg and Hattie E Miller-Wolfmeyer just one person?
conclusions???

Hello Mr Yeliab, Thank you for your question.
I did find a Edgar Logan Miller GWYT-PSJ married to Mary A Kirtwright KNV9-YDH. And a source where a Daughter Helen Kreinberg died 13 April 1939.
I see your situation.
This is what I do when I have this problem.
I get a paper out and divide it in columns, how ever many you need. Then I put the name of my problem people at the head of each column. Then I put the sources underneath each name and try to work this out. This has helped me work out many difficult problems. You would be able to do this better than I, as you are connected to your family.
We need to remember that the Census Records are not necessarily perfect. Sometimes the Census taker comes around and no one is home, but the neighbor is home. So the Census taker yells over and says; "Who and how many live in this house? "
And we as Indexers are not perfect either. Perhaps there is a space on the source with the wrong name indexed where you can change or report the error. We are all happy when we have help from others.
Thank you so much,
Great research project. 😊
