How can I get my username to display my name as opposed to my username 2X?

You just need to put a space between your first and last name as your "Contact" name. If you don't know how to do this, go to your person page and click "settings" which is a drop-down option under your name at the top right corner of your page. Then click "Contact" on the choice bar and you can change your contact name there.

I think I’m doing something wrong cause that didn’t seem to work for me

It didn't work for me the first time either. 2 things: (1) Don't forget to "save" it, and (2) Exit the program and go back in again. (Refreshing the page didn't work. I had to actually close it.)
