exchange information on living persons
How can members of a family easily exchange information on living persons? For example, my daughter's husband and his parents / uncles etc still living, shown in her tree be transferred / copied into my tree.
Exchange of details of deceased ancestors is possible, but not living persons to protect privacy. Is there no way around this assuming consent of both parties?

I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron, just like yourself ...
.
You are not alone ...
.
Short Answer: That is correct, there is currently no way.
.
There is CURRENTLY no mechanism in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' for Users/Patrons, to "Share"; or, "give permission" to "Share", the "Living" individuals/persons in their own "Private Spaces" with/between other/another User/Patron.
.
There are a myriad of "Privacy" Laws within the many various Countries and Unions throughout the World - it is a nightmare to negotiate.
.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is used in many Countries and Unions throughout the World; and, as such, must adhere to the myriad of "Privacy" Laws throughout the World.
.
Hence, "Privacy" is one of the reasons that we cannot "Share" the "Living" individuals/persons in our own "Private Spaces" - it is NOT the ONLY reason; but, certainly has a bearing on the matter.
.
Another factor is that such would have to be 'Coded'/'Programmed' into the Programme that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
'Yes', these "Living" individuals/person in "Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" WILL, in fact, in many (most) cases will be "Duplicated" - unfortunately a necessary situation that currently cannot be avoided.
.
I know that there are "Duplicates" of the "Living" ME - at least, one for my Wife and others for each of our Children, not to mention my other ("Living") extended Family members.
.
Here are some "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch' in regard to "Private Spaces" and "Living" individuals/persons:
.
What is a private space in Family Tree?
.
Who can see my living relatives in Family Tree?
.
The matter has been 'canvassed' many times in the 'FamilySearch' ("GetSatisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum, over the years.
.
We have been advised that 'FamilySearch' is looking/exploring/examining a few different options or possibilities, we just need to be ever patient.
.
Just some thoughts.

ps: We are all 'in the same boat' - and, still waiting, to see the outcome.

Hello Brett
Thank you for your quick reply, and apologies for my tardy "thank you".
I can understand the privacy issue, particularly as there is such a rise in identity theft.
For the moment my daughter uses my login details so that you can directly add in her family and her husbands family - at least those living. An easy way for immediate family members but I can't see that happening so readily for distant cousins etc - especially as I hope to eventually track down members whose ancestors emigrated to other parts of the world.
Once again thank you for your reply.
By and by, are you in any way connected to either a Bromby or Tennent family? Just thought to ask as one never knows.
