Hong Kong BMD's
I've long wanted to purchase a Hong Kong c1950 death certificate but have been procrastinating.
It costs money, and would't have info that I didn't already know, but it still would be nice to have.
When I researched this, I could order it on line, but was required to go an pick it up in person which is not possible.
I'm in no hurry to purchase it, but I was wondering...
Hong Kong is not British anymore, how long will the 'British Years' BMD's be available.
When China fully controls Hong Kong, which it seems to be working on now, will the BMD's be in Hong Kong-China hands, or will the British take them back?
I'm just wondering how much longer I can procrastinate.

Yes, I wanted to get hold of a couple of death certificates for people who died in Hong Kong and gave up due to (1) The specific detail that was required, but not available to me, when ordering & (2) the expense!
No, I don't see the situation getting any easier as time goes on - how do you obtain copies of death certificates for individuals who have recently died in mainland China, for example? I think I'd do my best to obtain a copy as soon as possible - a task made a lot easier if you could find someone in H.K. to collect it for you and forward on!
